Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Anderson County Criminal History. Continuing to browse, search, or read a page means that you accept them. Stop using the website if you do not agree.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with Anderson County, Tennessee, or any government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act use. Its purpose is to route readers to Anderson County criminal-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government ties. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve files, conduct official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

The website identifies custodians such as the Anderson County sheriff and courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation repository, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with separately operated research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Tennessee's registry act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 40-39-201 through 40-39-218, limits misuse of Tennessee Sex Offender Registry data and can impose criminal consequences. Registry information serves community safety, never retaliation or vigilante action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for a regulated purpose must come from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation or a provider that meets all FCRA duties.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Tennessee attorney can assess how an Anderson County charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement rule applies to specific facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, outcomes, sealing, and expungement can change a record after publication. Gaps and delays can occur. Treat no website statement as an official declaration by a court, sheriff, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may lead to a sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal resource, or outside service. We do not control the destination's content, privacy practices, fees, or availability. Its terms govern after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Anderson County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, changing, or building on that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for harm arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from claims caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with use of the website must be brought in a court located in Tennessee.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. The affected term will be adjusted only as far as needed.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
